§ Mr. John MackieAs the Ministry responsible for flood warnings, we have convened for the 11th and 12th December a conference of experts from this Department, the river authorities, the Meteorological62W Office and the police to examine the operation of the flood warning arrangements during the recent floods and ways in which these could be improved. Arrangements by the local authorities and the police to deal with flood emergencies are primarily the concern of my right hon. Friends the Minister of Housing and Local Government and the Secretary of State for the Home Department.
