asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what percentage unemployment figures, and what actual numbers unemployed, were registered for Great Britain, for the Yorkshire coalfield and for the employment exchange areas of Barnsley, Hemsworth, South Kirby, Dinnington, Knottingley, Doncaster, Maltby, Askern, Mexborough, Goldthorpe, Castleford, Normanton, Pontefract, Thorne and Rothwell, respectively in September for each of the years 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967 and 1968.

The number of building firms in Scotland (shown on the M.P.B.W. statistical register) in April, 1968 was 5,803, of which 3,425 employ between 1 and 7 persons. An accurate assessment of the number of firms comprising one man only is not available.
