Miss Herbison asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many of the men employed in Kingshill Number One Colliery before its closure have continued in the mining industry; how many have been placed in other employment; and how many are still without work.

101 of the men who were employed at the Kingshill No. One Colliery when it closed on 19th October, 1968 have continued in the mining industry; four are known to have found or been placed in other employment; and 87 are registered as unemployed.
