HC Deb 04 November 1968 vol 772 c12W
51. Mr. Leadbitter

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps have been taken to assess the conditions of the disabled Servicemen and war widows; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Swingler

Ministers and officials of the Department of Health and Social Security are in close and frequent contact with the ex-Service Associations and with local voluntary war pensions committees Moreover, a special War Pensioners Welfare Service makes regular visits to the most severely disabled and to elderly widows and is on call to all other beneficiaries. I do not consider a statement is necessary.
