HC Deb 31 May 1968 vol 765 c289W
Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the President of the Board of Trade what officials of his Department witnessed the trial transfer of large quantities of oil, from the 207,000-ton "Macoma" to the 70,000-ton "Drupa" on 29th May, off Lyme Regis; whether he is satisfied that no pollution of the sea took place; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mallalieu

Two experienced professional officers of the Board of Trade attended this operation, which did not start until yesterday afternoon. My information is that the results have been satisfactory.
