§ 88. Mr. David Steelasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the revenue received through selective employment tax from the hotel industry in Scotland; and what is his estimate of future revenue from this source after the 50 per cent. increase and refund scheme is operative.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsSeparate figures for the revenue received from hotels are not generally available. For the hotel and catering industry as a whole, I estimate the revenue from Scotland to be very roughly £2.3 million in a full year before the Budget changes and after the Budget changes very roughly £2.7 million.
