§ 80. Mr. Michael Heseltineasked the Minister of Transport if he will reconsider the Government's commitment to 11,000 route miles of railway, to allow for more flexibility, in view of the constantly changing pattern of inland transport.
§ Mr. MarshI fully recognise the need for flexibility to meet new developments, but as the route mileage of the railway network has only just fallen below 13,000 miles the hon. Member's Question is not a live issue.
