asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs where, when and in what words Her Majesty's Government received an assurance from the Mexican Government that it had dropped all territorial claims to the territory of the Colony of British Honduras.

In a Mexican Foreign Ministry Press Statement concerning the British Honduras mediation issued in Mexico City on the 30th April it was statedAs the President declared in his report to Congress on 1st September, 1966, Mexico has not and has never had any territorial ambition in respect of Belize. We hope that this complex and long standing problem will be resolved in accordance with law and justice and with strict regard to the wishes of the people of Belize.
