asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs how many British passports have been issued by the British High Commissions in Zambia and Tanzania since the establishment of these two régimes; and to whom.

Between Zambian independence on 24th October, 1964, and the end of April, when the last return was received, 22,572 United Kingdom passports were issued in Zambia.

From the formation of Tanzania by the Union of Tanganyika and Zanzibar on 26th April, 1964, to the end of March, 1968, when the last return was received, 18,566 United Kingdom passports were issued in Tanzania.

The passports were issued to citizens of the United Kingdom and Colonies, British subjects and British protected persons.
