§ Mr. Leslie Huckfieldasked the President of the Board of Trade what consideration his Department has given to extending the application to tinned goods of the Weights and Measures Act, prescribing the accurate, reliable and obvious marking of weight contents.
§ Mr. DellA substantial number of tinned foods and of other products, when packed in tins, are required to be marked with an accurate statement of the quantity of the contents. By virtue of the Weights and Measures (Marking) Regulations, 1964, the marking is required to be in a prominent position on the container where it can be easily read. We have no proposals at present to extend these marking requirements to other goods.
