asked the Minister of Power whether, in his review of connection charges by the electricity and gas industries, he will take steps to ensure that the principle of the consumer's freedom of choice is protected and that tenants of local authority and other houses have available to them an alternative method of heating.

Consumers' choice is one of the important considerations which my right hon. Friend is taking account of in his review of gas and electricity connection charges.
