Mr. Wellbelovedasked the Secretary of State for Defence how many acres of surplus land at the Royal Arsenal Woolwich, have so far been transferred to the ownership of the Greater London Council; on what date the transfer of ownership took place; what was the final purchase price paid for the land; and what was the date upon which payment was made.
§ Mr. ReynoldsWe have agreed with the G.L.C. that ownership of the 1,012 acres of surplus land at Woolwich Arsenal shall be conveyed to them on completion of the transaction and not piecemeal. 412 acres were handed over to the G.L.C. for their use on 1st January, 1968, and 'payment of £1,000 was made200W on 4th January and £1,399,000 on 27th March 1968, in accordance with the arrangements described in my reply to the hon.
