Russellasked the Minister of Health if he will investigate the circumstances in which a doctor could not be found promptly, under the emergency medical service, to attend Mrs. Forsyth who was suffering from shock at 105, Thurlby Road, Wembley, following the death of her children in a fire on Saturday, 4th May.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonI should need to be supplied with fuller particulars before deciding what inquiries to make. If, however, a family doctor was called to attend Mrs. Forsyth, any investigation would be carried out not by me but, under a statutory procedure, by the Middlesex Executive Council. In that event, if Mrs. Forsyth wishes the matter to be investigated, she should submit a written complaint, giving full details, to the Clerk of the Council. A complaint should normally be submitted within six weeks of the event which gave rise to it.
