§ 90. Mr. Tilneyasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs what advice he has given to British companies trading in Nigeria over the Biafran demand that those companies declare what they intend to do with their assets and staff in Biafra.
§ Mr. George ThomsonNo direct advice has been given as we consider that each company must take its own decision whether to comply with the demand or to ignore it, and my understanding is that the companies concerned agree with this view. But we have discussed the issues raised by the Biafran demand with representatives of British business at their request.
