§ Mr. Elystan MorganThe provisions of the Criminal Justice Act, 1967, which introduced the suspended sentence came into effect on 1st January, 1968. Arrangements have been made to collect appropriate statistical information, and research studies are also planned; but it will be some time before the effect of the new provisions can be fully assessed.
