§ 14. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Technology if he will now take steps to utilise and extend the work of Dounreay Experimental Station in such a way as to provide for the generation of power for production purposes by the industrial factories and businesses in the city of Aberdeen.
§ Dr. BrayMy hon. and learned Friend will be glad to know that the Dounreay Experimental Fast Reactor has already supplied some 200 million kilowatt hours of electricity to the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board for consumption by Scottish consumers. When the prototype fast reactor comes into operation in 1971, Dounreay's generating capacity will be greatly increased.
