§ Sir F. Macleanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many farmers in Scotland are at present in receipt of hill sheep subsidies; and what sums were paid to them during the last financial year.
§ Mr. RossThe number of farmers and crofters in Scotland at present in receipt of hill and upland sheep subsidy is approximately 17,400. It is estimated that almost£3 million will be payable to them in respect of numbers of sheep at 4th December, 1967, of which£2.2 million has been paid in the current financial year.
