§ Mr. Corfieldasked the President of the Board of Trade what representations have been made to him by British European Airways and for the British Overseas Airways Corporation in regard to the recent increases imposed by the British Airports Authority on landing charges at Heathrow Airport; and what reply he has sent.
§ Mr. CroslandI have received representations from the Chairmen of both Corporations and have replied that the increases have been introduced to prevent losses in foreign currency which would 347W otherwise have occurred following devaluation; that the amount of the increases does not seem out of line with this objective and that, because of our international oblgiations, the increases must apply to British and foreign airlines alike when operating international services.
