§ Mr. GunterI meet representatives of employers, trade unions and nationalised industries at the quarterly meetings of my National Joint Advisory Council and, together with other Ministers, at the monthly meetings of the National Economic Development Council. I have frequent meetings also on other occasions to discuss particular issues. Officials of my Department at headquarters and in the regions have contact with industry in the work of industrial relations, industrial training, administration of the incomes policy, employment policy, the provision of employment services including services for the disabled, selective employment payments, redundancy payments and industrial safety, and health. Officers in the employment exchanges, the Inspectors of Factories and Wages Inspectors throughout the country are in constant day-to-day touch with industry. I also have contacts with representatives of industry in other countries through the International Labour Organisation and the labour attaché service.
