asked the Minister of Health if he will make a statement on the action he intends to take so that the 1,173 persons on the waiting list for geriatric beds in the Sheffield Regional Hospital Board's area can be reduced.

Since the end of 1964 the waiting list has been reduced by almost 30 per cent.

The Board's building programme includes a number of schemes which will provide additional geriatric beds and geriatric day hospitals. The Board also plan to strengthen the medical staffing.
