§ Mr. John Fraserasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the proposed increases in fares by London Transport, it is the policy of Her Majesty's Government to expedite the provision of concessionary fares for retirement pensioners.
§ Mr. SwinglerThe Transport Bill now before the House will make it easier for local authorities to arrange for concessions of this kind on bus services outside London. We hope it will be possible to provide similarly in the separate legislation for London which will be introduced when the Parliamentary timetable allows.
