§ Mr. BennYes. Under Section 2 of the Atomic Energy Authority Act 1954, I have already authorised the Authority to search for uranium in this country. The Authority, through the agency of the Institute of Geological Sciences, are embarking on a reconnaissance prospecting programme in selected areas in the United Kingdom: the objective is to establish whether there is evidence of the occurrence of uranium sufficient to jutisfy a subsequent more detailed investigation.
