§ Mr. Edward ShortThe capital cost for the local stations (between £30,000 and £35,000 each) is being found by the B.B.C., not by local authorities. Local authorities and other organisations are contributing to the running costs. The present eight station experiment is due to be reviewed in a year or so. New plans for local radio must await the outcome of the experiment.
