§ 67. Mr. Wallasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will make a statement on his proposals to alleviate the growing cost to local authorities and industry in implementing the River Boards requirements to clean rivers and estuaries.
§ Mr. GreenwoodIndustry is eligible for investment grants and certain tax reliefs, and local authorities may qualify for the resources element of the rate support grant or for grant under the Local Employment Act. I have no proposals for further assistance towards the cost of any necessary treatment of their waste before discharge. Both have rights of appeal against the standards of effluent required.
