§ Sir Knox Cunninghamasked the President of the Board of Trade what consideration he has given to the petition, dated February, 1968, from the Council of the Mercantile Marine Service Association, relating to the findings of the formal investigation into the loss of the "Titanic"; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Robert Howarthasked the President of the Board of Trade if, in view of the evidence produced by the Council of the Mercantile Marine Service Association, a copy of which is in his possession, he will order a rehearing of that part of the formal investigation into the loss of the liner "Titanic" in 1912, which found that the s.s. "Californian", commanded by the late Captain S. Lord could have gone to the "Titanic's" help and saved many lives.
