The average retail price of bread in Wales, including the production of both the plant and master bakers, does not differ significantly from the comparable figure for Great Britain, although in areas remote from the nearest plant bakeries, like Anglesey and the West coast counties, a small surcharge is made by the big plant bakery firms because of the long road transport hauls involved.
