§ Mr. Brian Parkynasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many schools in the borough of Bedford have a higher proportion of immigrants than the tolerable number set out in his Circular 7/65.
§ Mr. Denis HowellThe Circular did not refer to tolerable numbers. It suggested that strains might arise if more than one-third of the pupils in a school were immigrants; there were eight schools in Bedford in January, 1967, in which this proportion was exceeded.
