asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many students from Scottish homes were admitted to English universities in the year 1966–67; and how many students from English homes were admitted to Scottish universities in the same year.

The Statistical Supplement to the Fourth Report of the Universities Central Council on Admissions shows that 235 students from Scottish homes were admitted to English universities in the year 1966–67, and that 1,247 students from English homes were admitted to Scottish universities in the same year.

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will convene a meeting between representatives of Scottish and English universities to discuss the feasibility and desirability of harmonising British university entrance qualifications.
