HC Deb 07 March 1968 vol 760 c121W
41. Mr. Hooson

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what has been the total number of meetings held to date and convened by his Department in order to explain Government policy on the reorganisation of local government in Wales to local authorities; and what has been the total cost of organising such meetings.

Mr. Cledwyn Hughes

To date 18 meetings have been held with local authorities and their associations. Their prime purpose has been to allow local authorities to present orally their views on the White Paper. The cost of organising these meetings cannot be separated from the other costs of running the Department.
