§ Mr. Eadieasked the Prime Minister if he will make a statement on the division of responsibility between the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of Technology in all matters concerning nuclear power and for fuel derivatives.
§ The Prime MinisterMy right hon. Friend the Minister of Power is responsible for the co-ordinated development of fuel and power; for the coal, gas and electricity supply industries and for settling with them their general programmes of research; for the inspection and licensing of nuclear installations; and for the oil industry.
My right hon. Friend the Minister of Technology is responsible for the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority and has sponsorship responsibilities for manufacturing industries supplying equipment to the industries mentioned above.
