HC Deb 04 March 1968 vol 760 cc2-3W
26. Mr. Grieve

asked the Minister of Social Security how many chronically sick are in receipt of supplementary benefit.

Mr. Pentland

About 309,000 sick or disabled people under pension age were receiving supplementary allowances on 21st November, 1967. It is not known how many of these are chronically sick or how many people over pension age in receipt of supplementary pension are also sick or disabled.
