HC Deb 04 March 1968 vol 760 cc17-8W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Minister of Health if he will give details of co-operation between his Department and the Services Electrical Engineering Laboratory at Baldock with a view to making available to medical authorities the results of radiotherapy work done in defence research establishments on neutron generators.

Mr. K. Robinson

Work done at the Services Electronics Research Laboratory on equipment producing high intensity fast neutrons is thought to have potential value in the treatment of some forms of cancer. The possibility of the National Research Development Corporation sponsoring the continuation of the work at Services Electronics Research Laboratory and related industrial development is now being considered. In addition, my Department is funding a design study, in industry, of necessary associated equipment at a cost of about £13,000.
