HC Deb 04 March 1968 vol 760 c30W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will give details of help given by the Fighting Vehicles Research and Development Establishment to the British motor industry.

Mr. Mason

The F.V.R.D.E. assists the British motor industry by placing contracts for extra-mural research and development of components, which often have a commercial spin-off, by permitting the use, on repayment of certain of its facilities and by discussion of technological problems with the industry. The establishment proves and tests vehicles and components and helps in the presentation of vehicles and the provision of advice to potential customers.
