§ Mr. Evelyn Kingasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will estimate the number of persons, excluding manual workers, employed at the last convenient date by local authorities in Great Britain.
§ Mr. HattersleyI have been asked to reply. At June, 1967 the total number employed by local authorities and in police forces in Great Britain was 2,216,815 but the statistics do not distinguish manual and non-manual employees separately.
