Mr. William Hamiltonasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the resolution passed recently by the Church of Scotland Assembly, details of which 120W have been sent to him, he will advise the establishment of a Royal Commission to consider the possibilities of greater devolution in the government of Scotland.
§ The Prime MinisterThe possibilities of transferring United Kingdom departmental functions to Scottish Ministers, and the physical transfer of United Kingdom Government work to Scotland are kept under continuous review, and I am not yet persuaded that a Royal Commission of the kind referred to by my hon. Friend would add to the sum of knowledge in this field.
