§ Mr. Harold LeverThe total outstanding capital debt of local authorities in the United Kingdom, as at the end of their financial year 1964–65 amounted to £9,916 million.
A loan debt survey, as at the end of the 1967–68 financial year, is now proceeding; the result should be known towards the end of this year but it is thought that the comparable figure will be about £13,100 million.
