Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Minister of Transport what are the main factors which are responsible for the increased railway deficit of £153 million for 1967 compared with £1347 million in 1966.
§ Mr. CarmichaelI would refer the hon. Member to the Annual Report of the British Railways Board for 1967 in which the Board primarily attribute the increased deficit to a reduction of £25 million in freight traffic receipts.
