Mr. R. W. Brownasked the Minister of Social Security what action she proposes to take to include nasal cancer in the Schedule of Industrial Diseases.
§ Mrs. HartNasal cancer amongst woodworkers was given consideration last year by the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council. It has been awaiting the results of current research into cases in the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire furniture industry.
In the light of the report on the results of the research, published in the British Medical Journal for 8th June 1968, the Council will now further consider the question in the light of Section 56(2) of the National Insurance (Industrial Injuries) Act 1965 (which lays down the conditions which must be satisfied before a disease may be prescribed under the Act). It will advise me of its conclusions.
