HC Deb 13 June 1968 vol 766 c53W
37. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Postmaster-General why he did not announce the new proposals concerning the neighbourhood directory plan to the House; and whether he will cause an investigation to be made into how these plans were officially disclosed to the Press.

Mr. Mason

Prospective changes in directory structure were referred to in the Post Office Annual Report for 1965–66 and the proposals for London were mentioned in the Report for 1966–67. These Reports were presented to Parliament.

It would have been premature for me to make a statement at an earlier stage.
