§ Mr. Hugh Jenkinsasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs how long those of Her Majesty's loyal Rhodesian subjects held in prison without trial by the Smithrégime have been so held; and, in view of the fact that the Government's earlier estimate concerning the fall of the illegal régime was not fulfilled, what estimate he has now made of the time this illegal imprisonment will last.
§ Mr. George ThomsonThose held in prisons without trial have been detained for varying periods. It is not possible to say how long this illegal imprisonment will last but it is Her Majesty's Government's policy to work for an early return to legality in the interest of the people of Rhodesia as a whole.
