§ Mrs. Ewingasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he has now agreed the sum to be granted from Goveriment funds to assist in the purchase of Aintree racecourse.
§ Mr. Denis HowellIf Liverpool Corporation acquire the site of the Aintree racecourse it will be open to them to apply to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government for a grant under the Local Government Act, 1966, in respect of that portion of the site which is to be kept as public open space. It is not possible to say at this stage what the amount of that grant might be.
