HL Deb 23 July 1968 vol 295 c1038WA
LORD CLITHEROE

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many aeroplanes passed over the City of Westminster or the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea during the first sixteen days of July and how many of then came below 2,000 feet.

THE MINISTER OF STATE, BDARD OF TRADE (LORD BROWN)

It is estimated that approximately 2,400 of the aircraft using Heathrow during this period passed over the City of Westminster or the Royal Borough of Kenton and Chelsea. This number is smaller than that for the same period last year because, owing to the wind conditions. fewer aircraft approached Heathrow from the east. There is no evidence that any of them came below 2,000 feet.

House adjourned at eighteen minutes before midnight.
