§ Mr. David Steelasked the Secretary of State for Scotland in what financial year he plans to include provision for improvements to the A698 road between Hawick and the A68; and what the estimated cost of these will be.
§ Mr. RossThe improvement of A698 is primarily the responsibility of Roxburgh County Council as the highway authority. I have no proposal before me relating to the section west of the junction with A68, but I expect to approve later this year a £110,000 scheme at Jedfoot Bridge just east of the junction.
