HC Deb 18 July 1968 vol 768 c255W
Mr. James Davidson

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what has been the number of requests for experts from the Corps of Specialists since 1964; and in what fields have these been requested.

Mr. Prentice

Requests cover a very wide range of appointments and do not normally specify a source of recruitment; the Corps is only one of the sources used. Since it was set up in 1965, 39 requests have been met from it; in addition, 19 members are still abroad completing commitments entered into before they were accepted for the Corps.

The fields involved are Agriculture; Administration; Architecture and Planning; Audit; Co-operatives; Engineering; Income Tax; Law; Marketing and Valuations.
