§ Mr. Geoffrey Lloydasked the Minister of Health what measures he proposes to take regarding the pollution of beer by fibres from asbestos filter pads as described in a report from the Medical Research Council Air Pollution Research Unit published in the current issue of Nature, Volume 219, 93, details of which have been sent to him.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonI am aware of this report. The presence of these fibres in beer has not been shown to be harmful 277W but my Department will be discussing with the industry the possibility of eliminating unnecessary exposure to asbestos.
