§ Mr. Bradleyasked the Minister of Transport what progress has been made in implementing Recommendation 20 of the Lofthcuse Report that his Department should discuss with other public authori- 222W ties the problems involved in the diversion of public utilities' apparatus affected by roadworks.
§ Mr. MarshMy predecessor set up a technical group to clarify the extent and scope of the problem. I have received the group's Report which, as well as defining certain points which require further examination, makes a number of useful recommendations, particularly on the matter of co-ordination between highway authorities and the public utilities. I am arranging for copies of this Report to be widely circulated and for further discussions on the outstanding points to be held with the local authority associations, the public utilities and the Departments concerned.
