§ Mr. Cledwyn HughesPrices of early potatoes fell rapidly in the first three weeks of June but since then they have fluctuated with the weather. This week the prices paid to producers have varied widely from place to place between£10 and£23 a ton. This is an improvement on prices in England and Wales in the first week in July; the crop is still bulking up and this also helps to increase the return per acre.
