Mr. Alan Lee Williamsasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether she will make a statement on the dispute which has arisen through the ban on overtime working in the London Docks arising from the problems of containerisation.
§ Mr. HattersleyOvertime is available as required at the fully containerised berths at Tilbury. These berths are not affected by the regrettable recent decision by the National Amalgamated Stevedores and Dockers to continue the four-year old ban which, alone amongst dock unions, they operate on overtime at weekends and after 7 p.m. on weekdays.
