§ 52. Mr. Gurdenasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the salaries and prospects of hospital pharmacists are insufficient to attract the quality of staff to meet the needs of his policy on quality control of drugs in hospitals; and what further action he will take to improve them.
§ Mr. SnowI am aware that some hospital authorities are experiencing difficulty in staffing their pharmaceutical departments. The pay of hospital pharmacists is a matter for the appropriate Whitley Council which is now considering a salary claim. Long-term organisation is under consideration by the Working Party to which my right hon. Friend referred in his reply of 29th January to my hon.
