HC Deb 10 July 1968 vol 768 cc69-70W
76 and 77. Mr. Rose

asked the President of the Board of Trade (1) what steps he intends to take to ensure free retail outlets for lubricants and other items sold at petrol stations owned by oil companies;

(2) whether he will consult with oil and petrol traders with a view to drawing up a code of conduct in relation to free competition in products other than petrol sold at oil company-owned petrol stations and those where solus agreements apply.

Mr. Dell

The undertakings given by the oil companies already constitute a code of conduct formulated after consultation with the interested parties. I shall keep a close watch to ensure that these undertakings are observed.
